I think I've figured it out, there was another track in the folder credited to unknown artist but with a track name called 'The New Mexicans'.Googled the band name and have found this CD: http://www.interpunk.com/item.cfm?Item=12152&It's got a track called Woodpecker, and this review here, and another one called Dainty lad which seems to be in the chorus of this other mp3...
...and there was no way Merzbow was involved, not enough white noise.
