hmm, I must keep my eye on what this blogger does, the 'posted by phil' bit just vanished.
Anyway, more lists: this time CD's. The following are on order from tigerbeat:
Electric Company - Its hard to be a baby
Main-transiency
v/a - Paws Across America 2002 Tour
DJ Rupture and The Bug vs Rootsman feat daddyfreddy split cdep (nonus)
Gold Chains - straight from your radio
I've no idea what Electric Company sound like (this is a lie, there on a few compilations I own, I think they are pleasantly glitchy...) so I'm looking forward to being surprised by this one; Main - well I come from the Robert Hampson used to be in godflesh side of the fence rather than the he used to in Loop but it's bound to be a pretty classy affair; Paws CD, there's a great track by the mysterious Original Hamster on this; DJ Rupture and The Bug should be ruuuufffff!!!! in a dancehall stylee; and Mr Gold Chains is rapidly becoming my new style guru so I'm currently hunting his back catalogue down.
..and the following should really be on order soon:
Soft Pink Truth - Do You Party?
Anti-Pop Consortium & Matthew Shipp - The Fight of the Century
Beans - Tomorrow Right Now
Aphex Twin/Various - 26 Mixes For Cash
Portishead - Alien (...I'll believe this one when I see it)
Hanin Elias - No Games No Fun
Autechre - Draft 7.30
The Bug - Pressure
Soundmurderer - Wired For Sound
Amon Tobin - Verbal Remixes
Spiritualized - The Complete Works Volume 1
DJ Broken Window - Parallel Universe Vol. 2
The Cinematic Orchestra - Man With A Movie Camera
Fog - Ether Teeth
Amon Tobin - Collaborations
Kid606 - Kid606 and Friends Vol. 2 (... well Vol. 1 has been out for ages, so this one must be on it's way)
...the trouble is most of these aren't out for a while, in case your interested I've got this list from perusing the release schedule at brainwashed.com. The people at brainwashed seem to have very good taste...

I'm trying to post something each day, hopefully the quality of this will improve over time (give me a couple of months and we'll be at the soul bearing "my life sucks!" stage, it'll be great!! maybe I could put some poetry up... I'm joking here by the way) but at the moment I'm at the vaguely interesting links and lists stage of my little site.
Today I bring you what googlism thinks of me! Unfortunatly "Sorry, Google doesn't know enough about darth phil yet., so I give you edited highlights of what google thinks of your host "Phil Smith":

...I like this blog thing, nice and easy to use, unlike certain other content management systems I could mention (Microsoft CMS2002, see me after class). I'm kind of curious how the whole archive thing works, I've turned it on and a few extra files have magically appeared in the ftp site but obviously it's a little early to start thinking about archiving.
Anyway, some interesting links I think:
Music stuff first, on the BBC's music site there a very good guide to experimental music, it's good in a 'dummies guide to experimental music' kind of way - makes it all sound alot less scary than you probably think it is. Speaking of weird ass experimental music I found a good review of a Spring Heel Jack concert I went to last month, possibly one of the best gigs I've ever been to, and it's good to see that someone else was equally enthusiastic about it...
